Maternal & Infant Health Programs
Seasoned parent, brand new one, or planning to become one? Our programs are open to you. You don’t need to be a patient to access our maternal and infant health programs.
CHCR is here to help. We have a comprehensive range of offerings, including: Enrollment assistance in supplemental nutrition programs, like W.I.C. and S.N.A.P., school or housing guidance, and complementary material resources like Pack N’ Play, PJ’s, and diapers.
Baby Café
Our Baby Café offers free, drop-in, informal breastfeeding support groups with ongoing professional lactation care and intervention.
Classes
We offer classes and workshops for you to learn and grow. Topics include safe sleep, childbirth, child development, home safety, breastfeeding, and more.
Breastfeeding
For baby and mom, breastfeeding is best. Breast milk contains the perfect combination of nutrients for growth and development. It can also help protect your baby against infections. You get health benefits, too. You’re more likely to lose the weight you gained during pregnancy and less likely to get breast and ovarian cancer and diabetes later in life.
Lactation Support
Our Certified Lactation Counselors provide one-on-one breastfeeding counseling and support. It can be
in the hospital, at CHCR, at your home, or place of work. Weekly support groups in Spanish and English
are also available.
Maternal Nutrition
For your baby, eating a balanced diet is linked to good brain development, reduced birth defects and healthy birth weight. For you, it can reduce pregnancy symptoms such as nausea and constipation. It also helps in reducing the risk of anemia.
Doulas
Doulas Empower You
A doula is a trained birth coach who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to you and your family before, during, and shortly after childbirth.
Pediatrics
We’re here for your baby’s first year and beyond, from well-child check-ups and immunizations to treating sick children. We support you, every (baby) step of the way.
